Microsoft Selects Habeas' Email Verification Solution

June 2, 2005 (FinancialWire) Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) has selected Habeas Inc. s SafeList for use with its MSN and MSN Hotmail platforms with a planned implementation this fall. Microsoft, which is competing with Google Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG) and Yahoo Inc. (NASDAQ: YHOO) in the free email space, will begin supporting Habeas Certified email in MSN Hotmail as part of their layered technology regimen for protecting customers' inboxes from spam, phishing and other email-based intrusions. With the use of the Habeas SafeList, Microsoft said it expects to be better able to focus its anti-spam filtering resources on non-certified email, which is more likely to be spam or to pose a security threat to its subscribers. Habeas Certified email is email that has been sent by accredited senders who have met, and continue to meet, Habeas' strict certification standards.
