Communications and information exchange company Nortel Networks has revealed its plans to increase its investment in its R&D capabilities in China.
The company is now planning to invest USD200m over the next three years and double the number of R&D employees in the region each year by the end of 2003. Plans are also underway to construct a 55,000-square meter campus in Beijing, the first phase of which is expected to be completed by late 2004.

A spokesperson for the company said that China is important as both a market and a source of technology talent.
