Image toolbar

The Image toolbar pops up when you hover your mouse over certain Web page images. It lets you save, print and e-mail pictures, and also opens up the My Pictures folder. If you find the toolbar to be a nuisance, you can disable it by right-clicking on the toolbar and selecting Disable Image Toolbar.

If you change your mind and you want to restore the Image Toolbar, you can do so through Tools > Internet Options > Advanced. Scroll down to the Multimedia section and select the Enable Image Toolbar option. The next time you start IE, you will see the Image Toolbar.

Enabling/disabling auto resize

When you open large pictures in IE 6, the Auto Resize function resizes the image to make it fit into the page. If you wish to disable this function, go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced. Scroll down to the Multimedia section, and deselect the Enable Automatic Image Resizing option.

If you do not want to disable it, but still want to see certain images in their original size, click on the Automatic Image Resizing icon-on the lower-right corner of the resized picture. Clicking on it again will resize the image into the browser window.

Deleting cookies and personal information

If you need to delete your cookies, go to Tools > Internet Options. Under the General tab, locate Temporary Internet Files and click on Delete Cookies. This should empty out all the cookies in your machine.

If you use IE6's AutoComplete feature, you may end up with IE hanging on to much of your confidential information. To erase this information, go to Tools > Internet Options and click on the Content tab. Click on Clear Forms and Clear Passwords. This will clear out all the data from IE6's AutoComplete feature.
