How to get around Automatic IP Addressing in Windows XP

go into the STARTUP GROUP, and disable all STARTUP items, then without rebooting, click on the SERVICE TAB, click HIDE ALL MICROSOFT SERVICE, then what's left in SERVICES, disable all. Reboot.

The system should pull a new IP ADDRESS, if not you can setup a connection for broadband for customer. you should be able to get online now. Then go back into STARTUP and recheck all items disables.
