How do I create/schedule virus scans with Norton AntiVirus?

To create a custom scan for Norton AntiVirus, perform the following steps:

Start Norton AntiVirus.

NOTE: If Norton AntiVirus is installed as part of Norton Internet Security, then start that program.

In the left pane, click Norton AntiVirus if it is listed.

If it is not listed, go on to the next step.

In the left pane, click Scan for Viruses.

In the right pane, click Create custom scan.

When the Norton AntiVirus Scan Wizard appears, click Next.

Click the Add folders or Add files, then add those items to your custom scan.

Click Next when you are finished adding the items that you want to scan.

Type a name for the custom scan, then click Finish.

To schedule a scan for Norton AntiVirus 2005, perform the following steps:

Start Norton AntiVirus.

NOTE: If Norton AntiVirus is installed as part of Norton Internet Security, then start that program

In the left pane, click Norton AntiVirus if it is listed.

If it is not listed, go on to the next step.

In the left pane, click Scan for Viruses.

In the right pane, click the first icon to the right of the custom scan that you want to schedule.

Click New, fill in the Schedule Task, Start Time, and Schedule Task Daily fields, then click OK.
